Holy Ground for Generations: A History of the Paulists at Lake George
August 10, 2021
The history of the Paulist Fathers at Lake George dates back to the early 1870s. Thanks to a generous gift, the Paulist Fathers became the owners of a large portion of lakefront property., Servant of God Isaac Hecker and his companions would camp at Lake George in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.
Today, St. Mary’s of the Lake serves as our summer retreat and site of the summer component of Paulist student formation.
This video was originally prepared as a presentation given in Summer, 2021, by Paulist Fr. Frank Desiderio.
