In this installment of Psalm Sense, Paulist Fr. John Geaney contrasts the beauty of springtime flowers with the ugliness of the violence and wars in Ukraine, the Holy Land, and other places in the world.
“We need to stop and ask ourselves, in the midst of all this beauty, ‘Why can’t we get along better with one another?'” says Fr. Geaney.
“It is very important for us to recognize that God’s path, God’s way, is the way of peace. We need to do all we can to bring it into all of our lives,” he concludes.
He connects his reflection to verses of Psalm 27.
A veteran Catholic communicator and pastor, Fr. Geaney lives at the Paulist Center in Boston.
