In the special episode of Deacons Pod, we feature an audio diary created by Deacon Mike Hayes while he attended the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Paulist Fathers’ media ministry Busted Halo held April 18 and April 19, 2026, in New York City.

Deacon Mike, now one of the Paulist Deacon Affiliates, was one of the founders of Busted Halo in 2001. In this audio diary, he recalls some of the ministry’s early days, including the origin of the name “Busted Halo.”

He also chats with Paulist Fr. Frank DeSiano, who was president of the Paulists when Busted Halo launched.
