The crisis in Haiti has been in our prayers. We pray that a solution may be found that brings lasting peace and stability to the Caribbean nation.

In recent months, our podcast “Deacons Pod” has featured interviews with the founders of two organizations that serve children in Haiti:

And an episode from last November with Cherylann and Len Gengel of the Be Like Brit Foundation, which operates a home and academy for children:

The Gengels also received a Hecker Award for Social Justice from the Paulist Center in Boston in 2023.

Mr. Straub also delivered the 2023 Gallagher Talk at the Catholic Information Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Last week, he was interviewed on television about the situation in Port-au-Prince.
