Paulist Fathers Announce New Assignments

The Paulist Fathers are missionaries.

And, moving to a new assignment in the mission field is a regular part of the missionary life.

As of July 1, several Paulists will make such a move. They are:

 

Paulist Fr. Eric Andrews will become pastor of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City. He is the immediate past president of the Paulist Fathers.

Paulist Fr. Matthew Berrios will become pastor of St. Patrick’s Catholic American Parish in Rome, Italy. He has been based in Rome for the past three years while pursuing an advanced degree at the Pontifical Oriental Institute.

Paulist Fr. Bart Landry will become pastor of St. Gregory the Great Church in San Diego, CA. He currently serves as coordinator of Black Catholic Ministry in the Diocese of Sacramento.

Paulist Fr. Rick Walsh will become superior of the Paulist Fathers who are based in Boston, as well as associate director of the Paulist Center in Boston. He currently serves as pastor of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City.

Paulist Fr. Gregory Apparcel  will become the Paulist Fathers’ Procurator General to the Holy See, based in Rome, Italy. He currently serves as director of formation at the Paulist seminary, Hecker House, in Washington, D.C.

Paulist Fr. James DiLuzio will become director of the Paulist Associates while continuing to also serve in the Paulist Office for Ecumenical and Multi-Faith Relations

Paulist Fr. Edward Novak will become the Paulist Fathers’ Director of Vocations. He currently serves as Superior of the Paulist Fathers who are based in Boston, as well as associate director of the Paulist Center in Boston.

Paulist Fr. Steven Petroff will become director of formation at Hecker House, the Paulist seminary in Washington, D.C., and superior of the Paulist Fathers based in Washington, D.C. He currently serves as pastor of St. Patrick’s Catholic American Parish in Rome, Italy.

Paulist Fr. Eric Hernandez will become an associate pastor of the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Grand Rapids, MI. He was ordained a priest on May 20, 2023. This will be his first priestly assignment.

Paulist Fr. Gerard Tully will become associate pastor of  St. Gregory the Great Church in San Diego, CA. He currently serves as associate pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community in Los Angeles.

Paulist Fr. Mark Villano will become associate pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community in Los Angeles. He currently serves as associate director of the University Catholic Center at UCLA in Los Angeles.

 

In announcing these new assignments, Paulist Fr. René Constanza, president of the Paulist Fathers, said, “I want to thank all those transitioning to a new role this summer for their openness to the Holy Spirit. My prayers and support accompany all of you!”
