Paulist Fr. John Ardis Elected Paulist Fathers’ Vice President

Paulist Fr. John Ardis was elected last week to serve as vice president of the Paulist Fathers.

Since 2018, Fr. John has been pastor of Old St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco and superior of the Paulists who live in that city.

It is anticipated that he will continue to live in San Francisco, and fill all three positions, through July, 2024.

From 2015 to 2018, Fr. John was our senior director of mission advancement, leading our fundraising and marketing initiatives.

He also has served as pastor of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Community in Los Angeles; director of the Paulist Center in Boston; associate pastor of St. John XXIII University Parish in Knoxville, TN; and as our vocations director.

A native of Ionia, MI, Fr. John was ordained a priest on May 12, 1990.

He earned his bachelor of arts in religious studies from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. Prior to joining our novitiate, he worked as a parish-based director of religious education.
