We recently welcomed two new novices to our formation program.

Luke Heffernan, 23, and Zachary Turner, 27, “signed in” to our novitiate during a special Mass on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Washington, D.C.

Both Luke and Zachary came to know our missionary society through campus ministries we serve at their Alma maters — Luke at the University of Texas at Austin and Zachary at University of California, Los Angeles.

They were welcomed at the Mass by our new director of novices, Paulist Fr. Michael Kallock.

Luke and Zachary will be two of 10 men in our formation program during a time of blessed growth. In a decade-to-decade comparison (2000 to 2009 vs. 2010 to 2019), our ordinations to the priesthood have increased by 25 percent.
