Paulist Fr. Thomas A. "Tomaso" Kane entered eternal life on March 1, 2025. He was 79 years old.
From 2008 to 2024, he was executive director of Paulist Reconciliation Ministries and Landings International, our ministry for Catholics returning to the Church.
He also led Paulist Pilgrimages, curating and leading wonderful journeys around the world that were spiritual, cultural and historical.
Fr. Kane taught preaching, liturgy and the arts for 33 years at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, MA, and Boston College School of Theology and Ministry in Chestnut Hill, MA.
He also was a ritual maker and videographer with research interests in the arts, communication, liturgy and culture.
Fr. Kane, a student of contemporary worship and celebration, wrote and lectured on liturgy, dance, and creativity in the United States and abroad. He documented liturgical inculturation in his video series "The Dancing Church Around The World."
He edited the 2014 Paulist Press book "All Holy Men and Women: A Paulist Litany of Saints."
Fr. Kane was ordained May 17, 1975. During his first years as a priest, he was a campus minister at St. Thomas More Newman Center at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.
